Original artwork description:

The Rock of Belalcazar is a still life painting of a rock collected from a walk in the countryside surrounding the town of Belalcazar in Spain. The still life records the movement of light and shadow, capturing the varied forms and shapes as they appeared throughout the time of the painting's creation.
The painting was created in-situ at the Convento de Santa Clara in Belalcazar at the La Fragua artist residency in 2014 and fully completed in 2018, using the rock Adam brought back with him from Spain. The light captured in the image is formed by both Spanish light and English light, both intermingling on the surface of the board.
