The Rivals sees the beginnings of an encounter between two stags in a clearing. One stag bellows, announcing his intended dominance of the other stag. In all probability they will lock horns and wrestle for supremacy. It is left up to the viewer to imagine how events unfold.

This print is an etching and aquatint made on a zinc plate. It is printed on Somerset Velvet, a heavyweight 300 gsm handmade paper from St Cuthbert's Mill in Somerset. The print is in a limited edition of 75 and signed by the artist. The image size is 10 x 15 cm on a paper size is 22 x 27 cm.
