This large stylised painting was inspired by the Artists time spent painting in the Botanic Gardens in Dublin.
Niki was one of a selected group of Artists to work on projects based in these famous gardens, at the end of the first year there was a group exhibition in the Presitious Hugh Lane Municpal Muesuem in Dublin in 1997
This oil on canvas is a flight of fancy, Purcell said she liked to imagine the paths through the gardens as magical roads that could take you anywhere you liked... almost like a flying carpet
Her time in the gardens was spent roaming these paths and trails and allowing her imagination and thoughts to float, almost like a walking meditation
