Original artwork description:

Inspired by the poem with the same name by Edgar Allan Poe, I intended to create a moody, dreamlike atmosphere, dark and misterious, as gloomy as Poe's poem atmosphere.

' And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o’er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted—nevermore!'

This is an original, medium sized painting on linen canvas.

Materials used:

High quality oil paints (Rembrandt, Sennelier, Michael Harding) on quality linen canvas. Varnished for protection.
