Those eyes and the remarkable features of this animal totally attracted me.

An adult male mandrill that has the brightest and most distinctive colors on his face seems to be most attractive to females. This feature once led Charles Darwin to write, “No other member in the whole class of mammals is colored in so extraordinary a manner as the adult male mandrills.”

The character of Rafiki from The Lion King, though described as a baboon, appears to have the colorful face of the mandrill.
