This small abstract painting is created on a piece of discarded sailboat sail canvas. I am going to produce quite a few of these this summer and put a very discounted price on them so people can afford and possess abstracts that interest them. This artwork measures 19x16 inches. This one is entitled, " The Price Was Paid!" This small abstract is a Christian artwork concerning the event that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our sins. It is created on this discarded piece of course Sailboat Sail canvas. I love to create art on material that has been discarded... especially for this art piece. It seems so appropriate that in a way we are like this artwork. It represents we are all discarded by this broken corrupt world but we can be made new through Jesus Christ and God.. the greatest of all artists.

A NOTE about this artwork. As you can see these sections of sailboat sail canvas are very rustic. They are unraveled on the edges and some slightly wrinkled... like a piece of a sail found on the beach. They are also seldom perfectly square due to the characteristic of its flexibility and the ability to stretch with the wind. For me this just adds to the essence that this is indeed a piece of sailboat sail canvas... perhaps from a lost ship at sea! Let your imagination soar with this one! I feel it would look great hung on a wall with tacks, or matching colored push pins. Some of my clients hot glue a dowel rod to the top and hang it by decorative rope, ribbon, or string. YOU can even participate in the creation of this artwork by unraveling it more on the edges if you want to make it look more distressed. These artworks are for the special GREEN-minded people who are like me in that they hate to discard things that can be repurposed. Especially into works of Art.
