Autumn, probably the landscape painter's favourite time of year is coming to an end, and in the coming days early winter winds will pluck the leaves from the trees and strip the forest of colour. But this evening the trees are clad in a riot of red and orange, highlighted in glorious setting sunlight. The moment may be fleeting, but it's more than enough to sustain the spirit until Spring brings the forest back to colour again!
