In the realm of dystopian romanticism, a lone figure stands in a bucolic field, just before sunset, with the sky in a striking blue and purple. Is it a young girl? Or a boy? Are they playing or simply watching?

My paintings are built from a mixture of Caspar David Friedrich's romantic paintings, film stills, Hudson River School Paintings, and contemporary suburban photography. The main importance is the mixture of beauty and looming threat. I seek to light scenarios which draw attention to the mood of a specific time of day. Each Landscape holds its own open-ended narration. A story to be found.
