I have lost count of how many different images I’ve created of the Palm House in Kew Gardens. The endlessly beautiful angles that must be captured in my linocuts will forever keep me occupied, it’s become my muse.
This time I’ve combined the pond in front of the glass house which on certain days can reflect the structure in a beautifully abstracted way.
The cutting of these 2 blocks has been a slow process as every little leaf and tree is cut into the Lino as well as each pane of glass of the Palm House structure.
The print is a combination of monoprint and Linocut.
Please be aware that these are handmade prints and not digitally printed so you may find faint smudges, creases and textural differences in my work, but if anything I think these marks enhance the work and demonstrate that they are made by real hands!
Oil based inks and Somerset satin 250gsm
