Original artwork description:

Based stylistically on Rembrandts "Man in Oriental Costume" I have created my own image of a much younger noble looking portrait. it is painted on a small scale canvas but this does not take away from the amount of detail and swagger brush work that is very much in evidence here.

Thick impasto creates the illusion of folded drapery whilst thin layers of glazing gives the shadow areas a very vivid effect.
