This is a small painting depicting one corner of the orchard at Nunnington Hall in North Yorkshire. The scene was very inspiring. I liked the gnarled, leaning boughs of the old apple trees and the long grass flecked with colour.
I have used oil paint, soft pastels and pencils on primed paper. The picture is backed with decorative paper. My idea is that this little, original artwork does not necessarily need to be framed, it can be displayed as it comes, propped on a mantlepiece or shelf like a treasured postcard.
The image measures 7.5cms x 11.3cms approx.
With backing paper it measures 9.7cms x 12.7cms approx.
The painting comes in a cellophane bag.
