View from the outside through the misted window of an orangery as light playing through the glass roof illuminates the somewhat mysterious interior. The unworldly quality of this is further enhanced by distortions created by seeing glass through glass, all viewed through a milky layer of shifting colour caused by reflections on the window from the garden outside. This is one of a series of window paintings that I carried out over a two year period, exploring aspects of human perspective at a metaphorical level whilst playing with a favourite subject.
This oil on canvas is framed in a deep wooden moulding painted cream as shown.
