I painted this at Hastings in Sussex, on a warm summer day.
It shows the old fishermen’s net drying huts on the shingle at Rock-a-Nore, together with a church on the left and ‘an old salt’ reminiscing about his life at sea, no doubt ready to tell a few tales, to anyone willing to listen.
It measures 14” x 10” unframed, but comes with a certificate of authenticity and will make a nice gift for an old sailor or anyone who knows the area.
