Like many pictures of mine, this one has a fascinating story. For a long time, I hadn’t been able to find out an image to work with, when suddenly I remembered the old church I liked at the cemetery. We immediately rushed towards there, though the evening was setting in. While I was painting the picture, the cemetery got closed for the night. Nevertheless, the work had been completed, but it turned out that the only way out was over the wrought-iron gate bars!
