I was inspired to paint this night painting of New York to show a different side to the bright lights. This painting is of the night time in New York, with the back streets showing the faint glow of the city lights . This is illuminating the yellow taxi cabs casting long shadows with the inky midnight blue sky backcloth. It has a mysterious quality and a stillness reminiscent of the artist Hoppers work. I have tried to catch the mood of this dramatic scene showing New York in a different light not the bustling streets usually associated with New York . This is an oil painting with Acrylic, painted on stretched canvas and it comes with a certificate of authenticity
