Juxtaposition of vibrant facial expressions that evoke raw human emotions ranging from joy, sorrow, rage, to contemplation. Each oil portrait is a deep dive into the psyche, making visible the invisible feelings that interconnect us. Created to provoke and empathize, emotion and psychology it vibrates with life and complexity, aiming to stir introspection and connection.
The Next Three Years series was born out off a grief ritual of painting a face a day mapping the the emotional rollercoaster of mourning the death of a loved one. Exhibited February 2025 in my one man show "Architecture and Mortality" in St Thomas USVI for sevenminusseven Gallery in the Seven Arches Museum.

2 framed 20x28 panels comprised of 35 4x4" oil/canvas abut to form a 28x40" diptych comprised of 70 paintings total. The diptych is unattached so the panels can be displayed together or separately.
