We all individually face change, challenges and conflict throughout our lives, but the Covid 19 pandemic forced most people throughout the world to collectively and simultaneously face its many consequences as a common, human response. Change is never easy and though some challenges and consequences can be on-going, we've all learned that, eventually, a new norm emerges. This composition is based upon irregular, organic shapes which suggest the layers of change we've all experienced. This is counterbalanced by the use of a single, regular shape--a square--which represents order and balance, the new norm, in a contrasting color. This mixed media abstract is done in acrylic, oil and cold wax. A satin varnish protects the surface, and hanging hardware is already installed.
