This painting is a dynamic expression of praise, which began as a collage of watercolor pieces--and some copies of Scripture passages--which were mounted on canvas and then overpainted in oil. Praise is a vital part of a life surrendered to God, and it is a natural response of a believer's experience and understanding of God's magnificence and presence in every aspect of our lives. When we praise God, we thank Him and acknowledge that it is not our own efforts that produce blessings. An attitude of praise keeps our focus on Jesus, where it belongs, and not on ourselves; we humble ourselves and entrust all things to Him, recognizing that His capacity is infinite, unlike our own. The Scripture passages that are embedded into this painting are from Romans 6: 3-11 and from 1 Peter. This painting has been given a satin varnish for protection; hanging hardware is already installed.
