Original artwork description:

Living in close contact with nature creates an intimate relationship with it. And with time, the way you observe it changes. One discovers details, shapes and colours that at first sight were overlooked or relegated to a superficial vision.

In this painting I wanted to represent a forest by concentrating on its "skin", as if it were naked. I tried to outline its surface by "caressing" it with the brush and saturating its colours. I deliberately left the canvas white at the points of light.
In this work, painting is reduced to a minimum and everything is rendered with restrained gestures.

This painting was done in the studio in August 2023. It is a reworking of several studies done en plein air.
The work is painted in oil on canvas board.
The signature is in the lower right corner.
The painting is protected by a layer of satin acrylic varnish.
The work comes with a thin wooden frame to protect the edges. It is ready to hang.
The painting is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
"The naked forest" is a literal translation of the original Italian title "Il bosco nudo".
