Original artwork description:

This is a commission I received to make a collage that represented the Mongolian Derby which a very brave girl participated in and completed this year! A truly admirable achievement. Google "Mongolian Derby" to find out more - it's interesting!
This collage is made on a white heavy cotton fabric. I have stippled the sky and the mist over the mountain tops using gouache. The mountains are made of linen and cotton fabrics and have been stitched on. The horses and riders have been stitched on and then I have painted them using gouache again. The rider on the left is "Pixie" - the brave girl to completed the Derby and to whom the collage is destined. I used photographs from Google to capture the colours of the back drop. I was also sent some photos of Pixie so I could make sure the colours of her clothes and her horse were correct in the collage so she can see that it is actually her! It is great fun making commission work and I would welcome more!
The collage is backed with sturdy white cotton and I have embroidered the name of the collage and my signature on the front.
The collage has a channel at the top so it can be hung from a pole or wooden dowel so it is ready to hang but can also be framed if that is preferred.
