Andrew McNeile Jones studied fine art at Ruskin School of Art, at Oxford University, in the 1980s. He then trained in film making, working in London as a producer and director for several years; he returned to painting full-time in the early 2000s.
He has won several prizes, including first prize in the ING Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall Galleries in 2022; he exhibits regularly in London and has also exhibited in several other European cities.
He now lives and works back in Oxford.
Much of his work is deeply influenced by his interest in film lighting and the creation of ‘tableaux’ which contain a narrative element.
