Photorealistic exotic tropical bird portrait of crowned crane, also known as the African crowned crane. I channel my enthusiasm for the amazing characteristics of animals by rendering them with academic oil painting techniques on canvas. The red sun is a symbol of life & the universe. The background is soft beige/cream.


Grey crowned crane is the national bird of Uganda. The body is mainly grey. The head has a crown of stiff golden feathers. The sides of the face are white, and there is a bright red inflatable throat pouch. The grey crowned crane has a breeding display involving dancing, bowing, and jumping. Currently, gray crowned cranes are classified as Endangered and their numbers are decreasing.
