This painting is about a man travelling in the sahara desert, a hostile and dangerous place, with his camel. He is carrying with him a little olive tree in a basket; looking for the ideal place to plant it and see it grow and prosper safely. He is having some rest but looks focused and determined despite his tired thin body. The olive tree prepresents everything to the man; his hope for a better future, the future of the next generations. The camel, his compagnion, a symbol for strengh, patience, and resilience, is imposing in the picture giving the man dominance over the vast desert, a place that resembles our world,
