A brand new darker version of my popular series "The Great Escape". Darker walls are so popular at the moment and I really wanted to create a gorgeous decorative piece that worked in darker interiors or more masculine interior schemes. Using a black frame and charcoal grey mount board sets off the darker toned butterflies beautifully and the accents of genuine 24k gold and copper leaf butterflies just sparkle and add preciousness to the piece.

PLEASE NOTE! I have released this as an edition but as every piece is hand created to order each and every piece is therefore entirely unique in its own right. You can preview my instagram page @lornadoyan for various pieces I have created. Because each piece is made to order I'm perfectly happy to flex the colours if desired.

The 3-dimensional aspect creates beautiful shadows which give the artwork a real sense of movement - a life of its own - and changes throughout the day in changing light situations. I have used gorgeous papers, many with sheens and glitters & multiple 24crt gold leaf and gorgeous copper butterflies which adds to this effect and gives it sparkle and preciousness.

As each piece is hand created to order - this may take longer than the 2 weeks stipulated, but I will always advise.

The inspiration of this piece comes from imagining these amazing creatures either finally escaping the confines of their chrysalis for their first flight or escaping colder climates on their annual migration to warmer shores, I wanted to convey a sense of both freedom and chaos whist ironically also creating an artwork with a sense of peace and calm.

Fully framed in a hand built black painted wooden box frame with Plexiglas XT 0A000 manufactured by Rohm. This material is the highest quality available and offers approximately 7 times more UV protection than glass and is shatter proof. Wrapped with certificate of authenticity and gift card.
