Pencil and pastel drawing on cardboard inspired by the meeting of Saint Catherine of Siena and Saint Dominic in a vision, after which the Saint ardently desired to enter the Dominican Order. After the initial firm refusal of the cloaked nuns to accept Her into the Third Order of Saint Dominic, since it was forbidden to accept virgins and maidens but only mature women and widows, it was only the serious illness that struck Saint Catherine because of the immense sorrow caused by their refusal that convinced them to accept Her into their Order. The imaginary portraits of the two saints, immersed in the divine light, show Dominic praying in the foreground of the work and Catherine absorbed in composed serenity.
