I painted this scene while at the Salt Lake City farmer's market. The marketplace had a friendly, utopian vibe. Many of the customers were regulars and knew the vendors by name. Everyone was so supportive and kind to one another - no competition just cooperation. I had to paint the scene very quickly to capture the moment of someone looking at the fruit or standing in line. I loved this because it made me stay in the moment and paint the feeling or gesture of the entire scene rather than getting the details on each person perfect.
