" Le chien Marcel " (The Marcel dog) is a zany yet endearing dog sculpture. His name is a tribute to the film ‘Le vieux fusil’, recalling the massacre that took place in France at Oradour-sur-Glane on 10 June 1944. This dog, taken in by the film's Clara (Romy Schneider), evokes the simple joy of life and its fragility.

It is part of the CalbinoOz series, sculptures made from natural gourds from the south of France.

Quite light, the calabash wood from which it is made has been emptied of its contents, seeds and skin so that it can be exported all over the world.

Like most CalbinoOz, he wears a small blue jumper, worked stitch by stitch, (around 300...) in white with brown polka dots, and blue brown shorts that look like a balloon.

His expressive light green eyes are made of blown glass.

Materials: dried natural calabash wood, surfine wood cellulose, acrylic paint, varnish, blown glass, mahogany husk for the truffle.
