I have always admired artworks of an old masters, the play of light and contrasts on the canvas, how central figures look prominent and shine over the deep dark background, which is also full in details and shadows. It is also a whole story on one small painting.
This painting is a bit different from my other artworks - different style, different theme, but I just could not resist a desire to create one scene from an old life, bringing back the atmosphere of large art galleries, full of huge wonderful canvases with shining figures on they.
