The Magnificent Vincent

Vincent, painter of the skies,

With swirling stars and sunlit sighs.
Moods that propelled your restless feet,
and a chase for colours, that made your heart skip a beat.
The muse brewed within your soul. 
A blazing fire you couldn’t control.

From Holland's flat and dreary scenes,
to France where gold fields gleamed serene.
Your travels were far and wide.
Your inner soul your guide. 
I am sure you searched for some secret muse,
in every town, in every hue.
In Paris, that pulsed with art’s extremes,
Impressionists cast their spell,
A world where colours dared to rebel.

In Arles, with skies aflame.
The town that forever claimed
 your heart, your mind, your sleepless nights. 

Its cypress trees and starry heights,
With every brushstroke, your mood took flight—
From joy to sorrow, dark to bright,
quest for meaning, peace, and rest.
and turmoil lingered in your chest.
Vincent you wandered, near and far,
Chasing life’s ungraspable star.

I used gesso for texture and acrylic and oils.
For me creating this piece, was a joyous affair.
