Artwork description:

This is a linocut print of some long reed grass - 'Calamagrostis'. These grasses typically form large, dense clumps of narrow leaves and stiff upright flower/seed plumes. It's an original reduction linocut print, using just one block of lino and a process of carving away the lino between each layer of colour to produce the final image.

It is a limited edition print with three colourway versions - Version 1 is an edition of 12 prints using Zerkall extra smooth printing paper and Lawrence oil-based printing inks. The image size is 42cm x 60cm and the paper size is approx. 53cm x 76cm which gives a generous margin to allow for framing.

My linocuts are handmade from start to finish - hand carved, inked and handprinted, and as such they will have small variations between prints - making each print into a unique artwork. As these prints are quite large, they will be sent packaged in a reinforced tube.

If you have any questions, please just get in touch and thanks for taking a look!

Materials used:

Zerkall extra smooth printing paper, 145gsm. Lawrence linseed oil relief ink.
