This painting is based from a pencil sketch I made whilst out in town. It shows the magical event a child realises the statue comes alive when coins are given. Whilst adults know this to be a mere performance but to a child it is a strange, even scary thing to witness.

The colours express the mood of the child, the main focus being on that living statue. If looked at closely the child is seen leaping back into the protection of his Mother.
