Extended title: "The light kisses the swamp and caresses the mountains before it leaves"
During the day, the swamp is always bathed in light. There are few shadows because the light is everywhere. But at sunset, when everything turns pink and orange, something magical happens.
The water reflects all the colours, the green of the hills merges with the yellow of the light and all the shadows turn turquoise.
After so many years of watching, I still don't know whether this wonderful spectacle represents joy or sorrow for nature.
The moment is so intense that I compare it to the farewell of two lovers who have been embracing all day. That is why I imagine the light kissing the marsh and caressing the mountains before it leaves.
This painting was done in the studio in August 2023. It is a reworking of several studies done en plein air.
The work is painted in oil on rough paper, then mounted on 100% linen canvas mounted on a fixed fir frame.
The signature is in the lower right corner.
The painting is protected with a layer of satin acrylic varnish.
The work comes with a thin wooden frame to protect the edges. It is ready to hang.
The painting is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
"The light kisses the swamp and caresses the mountains before it leaves" is a literal translation of the original Italian title “La luce bacia la palude e accarezza le montagne prima di andar via”.
