Original artwork description:
This piece was completed at a life drawing session. I had been practising life drawing for over ten years - sometimes concentrating on the figure, but at others building skills in portraiture over a variety of different media - charcoal, pastel, paint, etc. This particular model had amazing bone structure and lips and was lit with a very strong light, the ambient lighting was quite dark, resulting in strong shadows and wonderful tones.
