After I had already painted two large canvases with water lilies, I wanted to finish the subject. But it was a warm August, everything showed that the summer was coming to an end. Fewer and fewer flowers appeared among the many many lily pads. It would be my last summer in my studio by the water… so I couldn't resist.
The water lily on this painting is officially called Nymphaea Hollandia pink
This work is painted over an old painting which I disapproved. It therefore has a thick paint structure.
For protection, it is varnished with a matte retouch varnish. It is signed on the front and back. An iron wire is attached to the back so that it can be hung directly
NOTE: The images in situ are computer generated, might not be exactly to scale and serve for illustration purposes only.
Oilpaints, cold wax medium, brushes, scrapers and knife
