Original artwork description:

This picture is the second in a series of three similar Ink Drawings that were made in response to The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust’s Holocaust Memorial Day Competition. It was inspired by the feelings of loss and suffering endured by the many victims of displacement throughout the world and one man in particular named Hassan. I read Hassan’s account of how he and his family had to flee in the middle of the night and were separated in a forest whilst avoiding invading troops, never to see each other again. It is an unbearable experience that many unfortunate people have had to endure and I tried to show the anguish of being torn apart whilst trying to reach for your loved ones’ hand. I used an adult and child’s hand for this version to symbolize a family being forced apart.
A note to International Buyers:
Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
