Original artwork description:

A painting of an old mill chimney in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Having seen old photos of the town, the skyline used to be full of these chimneys and now only this one stands.

The painting is unframed, but is ready to hang. Supports are attached to the rear, which project the painting off the wall by about an inch, providing a nice shadow around the work.

Why paint on OSB?

One of the best things about street art, for me, is that you can be walking around doing everyday things and be surprised by a piece of art in a corner somewhere. It’s difficult to get the same sense of surprise in a gallery or a home; people go to a gallery or see something hanging on a wall in a home and expect to see art. But it might be just a little surprise to see the paintings on an everyday building material, such as OSB. By leaving it obvious that my artwork is on chipboard, it gives it a rough, industrial, textural feel; as if it has been removed from a wall outside and brought in.

Materials used:

Acrylic and Spray Paint on OSB
