When SE weather comes the landing beach in Village Bay, St Kilda becomes impossible and the short spur jetty equally so. The only feasible anchorage for small boats is round the back of the main island Hirta in Glen Bay sometimes called North Bay. The painting is done partly in acrylic ink and partly acrylic paint...it is glazed.
