" The lady in the golden dress " is an elongated 60 x 30 cm painting in acrylic on linen canvas stretched over wood. It is part of the Alchemists series of paintings.

This dark yet luminous painting depicts a soft-faced woman wearing a very pale blue and white bonnet and a long moiré gold dress with a deep azure blue band at the bottom.

The reddish-brown background has been worked in relief paste, and the shadows and relief of the luminous coppery gold dress have been created with a knife and a thick-haired brush to give an antique scratched fabric look.
