A classic still life of three old leather juggling balls sit on a linen napkin in brilliant sunshine. In order to enhance the colours and shapes of the balls, I let the background and wooden cabinet fall off into darkness and shadow, with just the glint of the brass handle for pictorial balance.
I made this painting a few years ago, and it hung in our own house for some time. Hence I have hardly shown it except to visitors; now I have decided that it is time to move it on.
The frame is a wide pewter-coloured wooden moulding.
