The Isle of Dreams - Dalkey Island at Dusk is filled with the stillness and energy of this iconic Island near Killiney Bay on the east coast of Ireland..
I have always loved this Island that can be viewed from the train as it runs along the coast to Dublin, no matter what season or time of day it always caught my eye and I used to think about who had lived there, the Martello tower on its slopes and the wild goats that live there...
I have used a mix of brushes and Palette knifes to create this painting, lots of lovely thick paint!
This painting is on gallery wrapped canvas(canvas is stretched smoothly around the edges and fixed on the back of the work) with the edges painted white to create clean lines and is also strung on the back so it is ready to be hung and enjoyed
