Original artwork description:

This is a depiction of the beautiful island of Arran, the largest island in the Firth of Clyde, as seen from North Ayrshire. The island is also referred to as the "sleeping soldier" which relates to the view from Ayrshire. The sand of N Ayrshire has a more reddish tint that further south and is shown here in it's true terracotta shade. The sky is showing a bit of cloud which is reflecting on the sea. A lovely evocative conversation piece particularly for anyone who has spent holidays in Arran or N Ayrshire.

Materials used:

canvas board, acrylic paint
