As I created this painting, I pondered how gradually, in 2024, all the riders of the apocalypse emerged. Each generation believes they will be the last on Earth. This speaks to the fact that despite technological advancements, we still envision Pestilence, Death, War, and Famine looming ahead of us.
The sensation of the riders' presence is keenly felt; it seems that at this moment, I see them all before me. In this painting, a person is depicted holding a mask, and at their feet, we can see a knot with faces, as if sprouting or constantly in motion. Behind the person stand two riders. They have undoubtedly come to confront the protagonist of this painting. The person examines the "face" or mask in their hands, seemingly needing to make a choice. Will they wear it themselves or remain brave in the face of the riders? The ending is open, as it is the protagonist who must make the decision.
