The Gweek, South Cornwall
An old oak tree,
In a magical valley with streams that flow down into creeks,
Moss, lichen and fresh ferns growing in Winter,
Colourful bracken and grasses,
Discovering tranquility this Christmas.

Words and feelings of my recent holiday.
Original impressionist watercolour on extra rough textured watercolour paper 300 gsm 140lb.
My experience and inspiration for this watercolour was from the walks from where I was staying. It was very peaceful and beautiful plus the oak trees were magnificent.
I used a wet on wet technique for the background washes and then started to naturally draw the oak tree shape with my Chinese brushes. I dragged the paint and pressed the paint on for different markings.
