The greatest painting of all time (on a box canvas).
A 100,000 years ago an animal, now called Homo sapiens, had evolved from Homo heidelbergensis. One such animal sat in a cave in South Africa and did something never seen before and for the first time ever; and so marked a point where this new species became distinct from any other animal before or since. For the first time ever an animal made a symbolic representation of; a thought; an idea; an emotion that existed solely in its (and now his or her) head so that all others could see it. Through one abstract painting from which all others that followed were derivative - an animal became Man.
This remarkable painting along with some other minor or preliminary works were discovered in Blombos Cave in 2002. There have been many great works of art since, but this man invented it and painted the greatest painting of all time.
These are not prints as each is individually done and signed to order and consequently vary a little from the illustrated picture and are sprayed onto plain.
It is likely that Juan Sly has become the biggest seller of original artworks in the UK. An artist exhibiting in mainly spray stencils and oils. He has exhibited at the Saatchi (a proper gallery with pillars and everything!) alongside the likes of Banksy, Terry O'Neil, Tracy Emin and Vic Reeves and now has a permanent collections in Germany, Detroit and the Uk, alongside Damien Hirst and some other artists you might of heard of plus private collections around the globe. His works rock from humour to anti-war, sex to surreal. Particularly fond of the stencil medium as it allows him to quickly respond to events and ideas and gives the work that gritty illegal look. The stencils naturally allow the works to be resprayed and so become affordable and disposable. He likes the fact that people can buy art that they like and not to show off how much they can afford. You can find them in bedsits, legal offices in the Temple or stuck to a fence in Bristol.

“This is a spray stencil copy of his masterpiece and I can do one similar just for you, but remember the dude who started it all” - Sly
