In Venice, the train station with its grand green dome was the scene of Marco and Lucia's whimsical romance. Marco, a passionate gondolier, adored Lucia, an artist who sketched at the station. Standing in his gondola, he held a bouquet and a model of the station he'd made. But in his excitement, he fell into the canal with a splash, flowers and model flying. Lucia, startled, looked up to see Marco emerge, drenched but determined. The crowd laughed, but Lucia giggled, charmed by his earnestness.
