A semi-abstract encaustic painting, 12x12x1 on cradled basswood panel, this work is a glimpse of the evening sky above a mountain range, the ground comprised of purples and blues. The 'golden' sky is gold powdered pigment rubbed into the pigmented wax and fused lightly so that it's stable, yet retains its metallic glow. This work is framed in a deep-canvas floater frame, wood painted with gold-leaf, one-inch (2.5 cm) wide on all sides.
