This Lino is inspired by the critically acclaimed Chilean adventure comedy 'Crystal Fairy and the Magical Cactus'. I have tried to portray the mysteries of the local hallucinogen — the mescaline-bearing San Pedro cacti. The girl above is my interpretation of Crystal Fairy(hairy). The desired plant helps her under its influence connect with herself and nature on a remote desert land.
The girl is a live drawing of a dear friend of mine who agreed to pose for me. It also reflects my love for being true to yourself without any inhibitions. This is my way of celebrating Curves and understanding Rubens and Botero. It was a pure joy transforming her into this Lino.
Every print is hand pulled by me, and therefore proudly shows the various marks left from the rough surface of the Lino block, which furthermore give the piece of artwork that unique handmade quality that only Lino prints have. This is all part of the beauty of the medium and why I love Lino printing.
Please note Variations in colour of the screen are technically possible.
