The Gift of Life
I threw some paint on the canvas and let it run its way.
Out jumped an array of colourful lines—a train map of London, I thought.
As I stared, I could see shapes of people on a train.
Some were small, and some were tall.
With my paintbrush, I dressed them appropriately, and there we went.
Where were they traveling to?
Shopping or work?
Theatre or sightseeing?
So much to see, so much to do.
How I love to watch people on a train.
Sometimes you see sad faces and expressionless faces.
And then sometimes a couple, or two, staring at each other with love in their eyes.
Old people visibly comfortable with each other,
Young ones sharing a joke.
On the journey of life, one of the above can certainly be attached to each one of us.
How great it is to have the gift of life.
