Original artwork description:

Thoughts on loss, grief and chronic pain. Mary Oliver talks in a poem about a box of darkness that was given to her… and how in time she comes to recognise that even that was a gift. In moments of insight I see how pain has made me resilient and has taught me that I am stronger than I look. I have learnt that grief, loss, sadness, despair, desperation…anxiety… they are not forever and they will not break me.

Materials used:

Mixed media on canvas
