This painting originated from an abstract underpainting. Soon, the trees and the light in the distance appeared. Memories of walks on the Dutch isle Vlieland came to mind, which is why I added the shapes of seagulls. But the underpainting remained decisive. This is why the work has retained its abstraction. All the paint has been applied to the canvas in an expressive and loose manner.
It is created with oil paint on an underpainting of acrylic paint on canvas. Various materials have been used: besides brushes, also palette knife, scrapers and even a drawing pen for line work.
